Hampi is the ruined Vijayanagara capital in north Karnataka, about 585 km and an 11 hour drive from Coimbatore. We pick you up in Coimbatore and one price covers the AC vehicle, driver and hotel. Choose a 3 day Hampi tour or add Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal.
3 Days / 2 Nights
4 Days / 3 Nights
5 Days / 4 Nights
12 Days / 11 NightsHampi is about 585 km from Coimbatore, roughly 11 hours of driving, so it is a long day in the vehicle each way. We pick you up in Coimbatore and our own driver stays with you for the whole trip, including between the ruins. The nearest railway station is Hosapete Junction, about 13 km from Hampi. The Karnataka permit and entry tax are included in your price.
Because the road is long, a 3 day Hampi tour leaves limited time at the site. A 4 or 5 day Hampi tour plan gives you two full days among the ruins, and that is what we recommend if you want to see the sunrise viewpoint and the main temples without rushing.
Karnataka Tourism puts the time needed at 2 to 3 days on site. The ruins cover roughly 29 sq km and fall into two parts: the Sacred Centre with the temples and the Royal Centre with palaces and administrative buildings. With the drive from Coimbatore added, that means 4 to 5 days in total.
Of our Hampi tours, the Hampi 3 day package is the shortest. The Hampi Badami 4 day plan adds Aihole, Pattadakal and Badami, and the 5 day plan breaks the drive with a stop at Chitradurga Fort.
Hampi tour packages from Coimbatore start at ₹13,500 per person for 3 days, and the price per person falls as your group grows. One price covers the AC vehicle, driver, fuel, toll, parking and the hotel (3-star or similar, confirmed in your quote). Meals, entry tickets and personal expenses are extra.
| Package | Duration | From, per person |
|---|---|---|

Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire, founded in 1336, and was one of the largest and wealthiest cities in the world between the 14th and 16th centuries. The empire declined after the Battle of Talikota in 1565. UNESCO listed the site in 1986. The 3 day plan visits these stops:
October to February, according to Karnataka Tourism, when days are mild. April and May are hot and the ruins give little shade, so avoid them if you can. The Hampi Utsav festival runs from November to January, and Maha Shivaratri is celebrated at the Virupaksha Temple. Ask us to check festival dates before you fix your travel dates, because crowds and hotel rates rise around them.
Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal are the usual add-ons. Hampi lies about 140 km southeast of Badami and Aihole, and our 4 and 5 day plans cover all of them. See the Badami page for what those stops involve. For a longer Karnataka circuit, look at Mysore and the Karnataka page. The nearby Tungabhadra Dam is a short add-on if you ask for it.
A Shiva temple on Hampi Bazaar with a gopuram of about 50 m.
A granite Garuda shrine shaped like a chariot with stone wheels.
A hill with more than thirty small to moderate temples and views over the valley.
A two-storey pavilion in the royal centre that blends Hindu and Indo-Islamic styles.
