12 Days / 11 NightsKerala Kovalam beach is about 400 km from Coimbatore by road, roughly 8.5 hours of driving. Our packages start with pickup in Coimbatore, and the AC vehicle and driver stay with you for the whole trip. The nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram International, about 10 km from the beach, and the central railway station is about 16 km away.
That is a full day on the road each way, so a Kovalam trip works best as 4 days or more. Shorter plans would spend most of their time in the vehicle. The driver handles the Kerala permit and entry tax; both are included in your price.
Plan 4 days at the least: one day for the drive down, one or two days on the coast and a day for the drive back. Kovalam itself is three small beaches in a curve, Lighthouse, Hawah and Samudra, so a day or a day and a half covers them. Extra days go to Thiruvananthapuram, Poovar or Varkala.
Our Kovalam Poovar 4 day package keeps two nights in Kovalam and one in Poovar. The Varkala Kovalam 4 day plan suits people who want two beach towns.

Kerala gets about 65% of its yearly rain from the southwest monsoon, which runs from June to August and tails off in September, and the northeast monsoon adds rain from September to December in the southern districts. The dry, calmer months from October to March suit the beach best. Pick dates outside June to September if you want to spend time on the sand. We confirm the sea and weather situation before you travel.
On the Kovalam Poovar plan the route is Coimbatore to Kovalam, then Thiruvananthapuram, then Poovar, then back to Coimbatore. You spend two nights in Kovalam and one in Poovar. The first day is mostly the drive. Day two is Lighthouse Beach and the town, and the Thiruvananthapuram stops are Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple and the Napier Museum.
The Poovar night is on an island resort, with a mangrove boat cruise and Golden Sand Beach. On the last day you drive back to Coimbatore. Your quote lists the hotels and the order of stops, and we can reorder them if you prefer more beach time and less sightseeing.
Couples and families who want sea and sand at the southern tip of Kerala. If you want more sightseeing than beach time, the 6 day plan that joins Madurai, Rameswaram, Kanyakumari and Trivandrum is a better fit. Larger groups of friends or relatives can travel in a Tempo Traveller, and your quote shows the per person price for your group size.
