1 tour package from Coimbatore, 3 days, from ₹10,200 per person.
Sabarimala is the Ayyappa temple in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district, about 8.5 hours by road from Coimbatore. We pick you up in Coimbatore, drive in our own vehicle with our driver and plan the stay around your darshan slot. One price covers the vehicle, driver, fuel, toll, parking and lodging.
Sabarimala is about 330 km from Coimbatore by road, roughly 8.5 hours with stops. The drive goes through Palakkad into Kerala. Plan for longer in the main pilgrim season, when traffic on the approach to Pampa is heavy.
The temple is in Pathanamthitta district, about 72 km from Pathanamthitta town and 60 km from Ranni, according to Wikipedia. A motorable road runs from Ranni to Pampa, the valley at the foot of the hill. Kerala Tourism lists three pilgrim routes: Erumeli, Chalakkayam and Vandiperiyar. The temple sits inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Entry rules are set by the temple authorities.
The Kerala permit and entry tax are included in our price, so you do not pay anything at the border.
Three days and two nights is the practical minimum. Day 1 is the drive to the Pathanamthitta and Pampa area, day 2 is darshan at your booked slot, and day 3 is the drive home. A two-day trip leaves too little rest after a long drive and the climb from Pampa.
Our Sabarimala package is the Sabarimala 3-day pilgrimage package, from ₹10,200 per person, based on 2 travelling together. It includes the AC vehicle, driver, fuel, toll, parking, permit, entry tax and two nights of lodging near Pampa. Meals and personal expenses are extra. You book your darshan slot yourself, and we plan the drive and stay around it.
Temple associations and bhajan groups usually travel together. We run cars, Tempo Travellers (12 to 18 seats), Force Urbania, a 21 seater coach van, a 24 seater mini bus and 30 and 50 seater buses. If you searched for a Coimbatore to Sabarimala bus, send us your group size and we quote the right size. One driver stays with the group for all three days.
The main season is the 41-day Mandala period and the Makaravilakku festival that follows. It begins on the first day of the Malayalam month Vrishchikam, in November to December, and runs for about 60 days with a short break, per Kerala Tourism. Kerala Tourism estimates 10 to 15 million pilgrims visit each year.
The page links to the official online booking site at sabarimala.kerala.gov.in. Darshan rules, queues and parking change every season, so check the current notice before you travel. We confirm the rules in force for your date before we quote.
| Period | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Mid-November to mid-January | Mandala and Makaravilakku season. Heaviest crowds. Book vehicle and lodging as soon as your darshan slot is confirmed. |
| Other months | Fewer pilgrims and easier travel. The temple's opening dates are announced by the temple authorities, so confirm them before you book. |
Kerala Tourism lists the daily rituals: Nirmalyam, Abhishekam, Usha Pooja, Ashtabhishekham, Ucha Pooja in the morning, and Deeparadhana, Pushpabhishekam, Athazhapooja and Harivarasanam in the evening. Pilgrims climb from Pampa on foot, so wear comfortable shoes and carry little. Your driver waits with the vehicle.
Many families add a hill station or a temple on the way back. See Thekkady, Munnar, Kottayam, Guruvayur and the Kerala guide. Tell us your darshan date on WhatsApp at +91 86101 62373.
