What is the best time to visit Kumarakom?

October to March is the comfortable window for lake cruises and the bird sanctuary. The southwest monsoon brings about 65% of Kerala's rain between June and August, and the northeast monsoon adds more from September to December in the southern districts. Boating is still possible in light rain, but heavy rain can cancel cruises, and we tell you before you set out if that is likely.
