The Kerala vehicle permit and entry tax are included in the price. Dates and darshan entry rules for Sabarimala change each season, so we check them for your travel date before we quote.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1: Coimbatore to the Pathanamthitta and Pamba sector

    We leave Coimbatore early, as most groups prefer, and drive into Kerala via Palakkad. You check in near the Pamba side for the night. In season, your driver may change the halt to fit the traffic and parking rules.

  2. Day 2: Sabarimala darshan

    Darshan follows your booked slot and the access rules in force that season. In the main season, pilgrims report that private vehicles park at Nilakkal and KSRTC buses take devotees on to Pamba, from where you climb to Sannidhanam on foot. Parking and bus arrangements change each season, and we explain the current ones in your quote. Your driver waits with the vehicle. You spend the second night back at your lodging.

  3. Day 3: Return to Coimbatore

    After rest and breakfast, we drive you back to Coimbatore and drop each member at the agreed points.

Best time to go

The temple is busiest during Mandala and Makaravilakku (mid-November to mid-January), especially weekends and the days around Makara Jyothi. Lodging near Pamba fills weeks ahead in those weeks, so please book your vehicle and stay as soon as your darshan slot is confirmed. Monthly pooja openings are quieter but short.

About Sabarimala

Kerala Tourism's Sabarimala guide places the temple at about 3,000 feet in Pathanamthitta district, inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve, with Pamba as the base. The main pilgrimage runs from the first day of the Malayalam month of Vrischikam (November to December) through the 41-day Mandala period and the Makaravilakku festival that follows. The temple is also open for short periods at other times of the year; check the temple board notices for the exact dates.

Darshan bookings are made on the Travancore Devaswom Board's Sabarimala online portal. For temple notices, see the Travancore Devaswom Board website. Entry and age rules are set by the temple authorities, and we follow what is in force for your dates.

Vehicles for the trip

For groups we can quote a Coimbatore to Sabarimala bus or coach van. We run a 21 seater coach van, a 24 seater mini bus, and 30 and 50 seater buses, alongside Tempo Travellers (12 to 18 seats), Force Urbania and cars for smaller families. One driver stays with the group for all three days. The drive is around 6 to 7 hours each way via Palakkad, longer in season.

Frequently asked questions

Do you book the darshan slot for us?

No. Each pilgrim books on the official portal. Once you have your slot, send us the date and time, and we plan the drive and stay around it.

What if our darshan slot changes or the crowd delays us?

Season crowds can hold up the Nilakkal buses and the queue. We do not set a tight return time on Day 2. If you need an extra night, tell us and we will check lodging and quote the change.

Can we stop at other temples on the way?

Yes. Groups often ask for stops such as Erumeli. Tell us when you ask for a quote so we can add the time and distance.

Which vehicle will we get?

That depends on your group size. We run sedans, Ertiga, Innova, Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross, Tempo Travellers, Force Urbania, coach vans and buses up to 50 seats. Your quote names the vehicle.

How do payment and cancellation work?

A 30% advance confirms your trip, and the balance date is in your written quote. Cancel 15 days or more before the trip and we refund the full advance. From 14 to 3 days before, we refund half the advance. Within 2 days of the trip, the advance is not refunded.

Who should pick a different package?
