    Mysore is about 200 km from Coimbatore, roughly 5 hours. We leave around 4 am.

    1. Chamundi Hill first, before the queues. The Mysuru district page puts the Chamundeshwari temple at about 3,489 ft. 2. The palace, open 10 am to 5:30 pm daily according to the district page. It is lit up on Sundays and public holidays, so a Sunday trip gets you more. 3. St. Philomena's Cathedral, the tall Gothic-style church that Karnataka Tourism counts among the tallest in Asia. 4. Brindavan Gardens at the KRS dam, 21 km out. Karnataka Tourism lists the fountain show from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on weekdays and until 8 pm on weekends.

Best time to go

October to March is the most comfortable. Sundays add the palace lights.

₹2,500 to ₹5,000 per person. The vehicle cost is shared, so a bigger group pays less each. A sedan (Dzire, Etios or Amaze) for up to 4, an Ertiga, Innova, Innova Crysta or Innova Hycross for up to 7, and a Tempo Traveller or Force Urbania for 10 to 18. The vehicle is named in your quote.

The return: read this first

After the show, the quick roads home pass through forests that restrict or close night traffic, such as the Bandipur road and the Dhimbam ghat. The open route goes via Bangalore and Salem and is far longer, so you would reach Coimbatore in the early hours. Two better choices: skip the fountain show and leave Mysore by 4 pm, or turn it into a 2-day trip with a night in Mysore. Night rules change, so we check them for your date and confirm the return route in your quote.
